backyard session

I love to come to clients homes and create fun images in and around their home. This is baby 'C' and we had a fun time the other day playing with her Blog3p in her backyard!

Its great because when young kids are in a familiar environment they are very relaxed and we get some super sweet expressions like this one of her playing peek a boo with Daddy!

She certainly is a lucky girl and has very sweet parents!

All four of us just played and had a fun time!

These are my favorite kind of sessions where everyone is relaxed and has a good time... this is what it is all about... documenting the story of your life! That's what we mean with our tag line, Real life.... Real reflections. Aren't these much more meaningful than those images we have all seen with the fake background and the "say cheese" smile!!

I am looking forward to my next session like this!

Our new Baby

The happy day finally arrived last week Thursday... after waiting and waiting for several years, we adopted our new baby!
Meet Nani.... Blog_1

It was love at first sight when we saw her... we also wanted to take home one of her brothers or sisters, but decided to just keep her for now!

Nani means beautiful in Hawaiian and she is one beautiful pup! She is calm and sweet and has such a great temperament! Jordyn constantly wants to be with her and I think the feeling is mutual!Blog_3

Many mahalos to Susan who hooked us up with Julie to make this all happen!

I am sure you have guessed that now I am turning into a puppy photographer and I am betting  you will see plenty more of Nani girl as she grows!
until next time...
play hard and take long naps!

on the move....

Some of my clients are now starting to get on the move such as baby Emma here.... seems like it was just yesterday that she was such a tiny ball and now she is a cruiserBlog_622 !

So speaking of being on the move... Jordyn and I are now on the move too! We are headed back to the North Shore to live and work starting mid July! We have a beautiful brand new studio with an amazing ocean view and we are so excited to get it altogether and have all of you come see it!
For my town clients we will still be working in town locations as well as all over the island on locations. We can always come to your house to create some special images or there are so many beautiful locations we can go to. For beaches though, it is hard to beat the North Shore at sunset with Kaena Point in the background! We have really missed being there, and although we have enjoyed our year in town, we are really ready to get back 'home' and all studio work will now be at our new location right around the corner from Waimea Bay.
Our schedule is nearly totally full until the second week of August, so call soon if you want to get on it as we have just a couple time slots left. And that reminds me to tell you that if you are planning on having some really great custom printed holiday cards this year with beautiful images of your children and family, it is time to  get on the schedule for that! Its never to early to get the images created as you never know what will come up and if we have a bout of bad weather like we did last year we will have to do some rescheduling and you could possibly miss out.Plus if you get them done in August you will qualify for our special card promotion that we will be announcing soon!
So we hope to see you soon on the beautiful North Shore!
peace and aloha,
Joanne

So good to be home!

We made it back and it is always so good to come home, especially when home is this beautiful island! The first thing we did was... hit the beach!! We had a great time in California, but boy is that water cold!!
We got to spend some time in San Diego before visiting Grandma and then we headed off to Disney! It was a whirlwind tour of Southern Cali!
Jordyn made several new friends though... this is my brothers new baby Kes....
Kes

And this is our very good friend Rachel who is a dolphin trainer at Sea World! Rach

How cool would that be to ride around on a dolphin! And she has a twin sister who gets to play with killer whales all day! Those are my dream jobs... well, that is if I wasn't already doing my dream job!
And lucky for us, she introduced us to quite a few of her pals... and again, Jordyn was in love!
Dol

It was lots of fun and now I am getting caught up here in the studio. We have several new things to tell you about soon, so stay tuned!!
until next time...

Looking for a puppy!

All year long I have been promising my daughter that we would get a puppy when summer gets here... so we are now only 4 days away from school being finished and we are officially looking for a new puppy!! I have been looking in the paper and called every pet shop on the island, but no luck so far... So I thought I would just put it out there to all of you and hope someone knows where we can find a litter of Golden Retriever puppies! We want a pure bred female pup as that is what we have had before and it is what Jordyn has her heart set on!
So if anyone knows of any cute goldies looking for a very good home, please call or e-mail me!!
thanks! Blog_63
